Minimalista

Privacy Policy

Your data
stays yours.

Minimalista is a minimalist Android home-screen launcher, built to be private by default — no accounts, no ads, no advertising trackers, and no servers of our own. Almost everything happens on your device; the exceptions are weather requests, anonymous crash reports, and anonymous usage statistics you can turn off.

Effective 5 September 2026 Last updated 2 October 2026 App com.minimalista.launcher

No accounts

Nothing to sign up for. Just install and go.

No ad tracking

No ads, no advertising IDs, no cross-app tracking.

On-device

Your data lives in the app’s private storage.

You’re in control

Every permission is optional and revocable.

The short version. Three things leave your phone, all over encrypted (HTTPS) connections: a weather request — your approximate location or a city name you type — sent to Open-Meteo for a forecast; anonymous crash reports sent to Firebase Crashlytics (Google) so we can fix bugs; and anonymous usage statistics (which features are used) sent to Firebase Analytics (Google), which you can turn off in Settings → Privacy. We run no servers of our own and never sell your data or share the contents of your notes, contacts, or screens.

No ads No data selling No ad trackers HTTPS only Anonymous crash reports

Who this applies to

This Privacy Policy governs the Minimalista Android application (package com.minimalista.launcher) and describes what the app can access, why, and where — if anywhere — that information goes. “We”, “us”, and “the app” refer to Minimalista and its developer, the data controller for the limited processing described here.

1

What the app accesses, and why

Every item below is optional and tied to one feature. Decline any and the app still works — that feature just stays off. Grant or revoke each at any time in Android Settings, or from Settings → Permissions inside the app. Our legal basis (where GDPR applies) is your consent, given by granting the permission; for the app’s core launcher function it is our legitimate interest in providing the service you installed.

Approximate locationACCESS_COARSE_LOCATIONSent to Open-Meteo

Shows the current weather for where you are, under the clock and on the weather card.

Coarse coordinates are sent to Open-Meteo to fetch a forecast. Not stored by us; not linked to any identity.

Weather city names you typeSent to Open-Meteo

Adds a weather card for a specific city.

The city name is sent to Open-Meteo’s geocoding API to look up its coordinates.

InternetINTERNETNetwork

Used to request weather forecasts from Open-Meteo and to upload crash reports.

The app makes no other network calls.

Crash & diagnostic reportsSent to Firebase Crashlytics

Detects and helps us fix crashes and stability issues.

Sent to Firebase Crashlytics (Google): a stack trace, app version, device model, OS version, and a random Firebase installation ID. Never your notes, contacts, messages, or the contents of your screens; not linked to your identity.

Anonymous usage statisticsSent to Firebase Analytics

Shows us which features are used so we can improve them — for example, that onboarding was finished, a widget type was added, a Premium screen was opened, or a feature was switched on.

Sent to Firebase Analytics (Google) with a random app-instance ID, app version, device model, OS version, and approximate country. Never the names of your apps, your contacts, notifications, notes, or anything you type; no advertising ID. On by default — turn it off anytime in Settings → Privacy → Share anonymous usage.

CalendarREAD_CALENDARStays on device

Shows today’s events in the Events widget.

Read on your device only, while the widget is on screen. Never uploaded.

Usage accessPACKAGE_USAGE_STATSStays on device

Powers screen-time figures, the Screen-time widget, per-app usage goals, and onboarding’s “guess vs. actual” reveal.

All usage is computed and shown on your device. Never uploaded.

Notification accessBIND_NOTIFICATION_LISTENER_SERVICEStays on device

Powers Focus Mode’s notification filter (dismissing alerts from apps that aren’t allow-listed), shows / controls the media card, and — only if you turn on Quiet Digest — holds notifications from the apps you choose until your chosen delivery times.

Notifications are processed on your device only and never transmitted off it. With Quiet Digest on, the title and text of notifications from the apps you chose are kept in Minimalista’s private storage until you view or clear them, or turn Quiet Digest off. Nothing is kept for any other app, and Quiet Digest is off unless you turn it on.

Post notificationsPOST_NOTIFICATIONSOptional

Lets Quiet Digest show its one summary notification at your chosen times. Asked only when you turn Quiet Digest on.

The summary is created on your device. Nothing is sent anywhere.

Do Not Disturb accessStays on device

Silences the device while a Focus session runs.

A device-only setting; nothing leaves your phone.

ContactsREAD_CONTACTSStays on device

Lets you search your contacts from the launcher’s universal search bar, and shows your starred contacts in the Favourites widget.

Read on your device only. Never uploaded.

Installed apps<queries> launcher appsStays on device

Lists, searches, categorises, and launches the apps on your phone — the core job of a launcher.

No special permission: Minimalista only sees apps that appear in your app drawer (launchable apps). The list stays on your device.

Default home app (role)On device

Lets the Home button open Minimalista.

A system role you grant in Android settings; no data is collected.

Billingcom.android.vending.BILLINGGoogle Play

Offers Minimalista Premium — the yearly subscription and the one-time lifetime purchase. The 7-day free trial starts by itself when you finish setting up the app and needs no payment.

Purchases are processed entirely by Google Play Billing. We never see or store your payment details. See “Purchases”.

2

Data you create stays on your device

Your preferences, home drawers, favourites, dock, notes, to-do tasks, usage goals, Focus settings, widget data (such as your water count, habits and countdowns), Quiet Digest notifications waiting for delivery, your usage goals and Mindful Open / Scroll Break settings, wallpaper cache, free-trial dates, and premium status are stored in Minimalista’s private app storage on your device. They are never uploaded to us — we operate no servers and have no way to receive them.

The pause screens keep even less: the reason you pick on Mindful Open is never saved, and Scroll Break’s count of recent app opens lives only in memory and is gone when the app closes. Quiet Digest’s delivery schedule is restored after your phone restarts (the standard RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED permission); nothing is read or sent when that happens.

3

Purchases (Minimalista Premium)

Minimalista is free to use. Premium unlocks the widget board and customisation (themes, fonts, clocks, wallpapers and layout). The 7-day free trial starts automatically when you finish setting up the app: no payment method or Google account details are involved, and its dates are kept only on your device. When the trial ends, the launcher keeps working and your current look stays; only changing Premium features requires a plan.

Cancelling. The trial needs nothing cancelled — it simply ends. A yearly subscription can be cancelled anytime in the Google Play Store → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Minimalista → Cancel subscription; you keep Premium until the end of the period you paid for. Uninstalling the app does not cancel a subscription. The lifetime purchase is a one-time payment with nothing to cancel. Refunds are handled by Google Play under its refund policy.

Premium is sold through Google Play Billing. When you subscribe or buy the lifetime plan, Google — not Minimalista — handles the transaction and your payment method. We receive only the entitlement result (whether a plan is active), stored on your device to unlock premium features. Your card, billing address, and Google account details are never shared with us. Google’s handling of your purchase is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.

4

Third-party services

Open-Meteo — weather

Forecasts are provided by Open-Meteo. When you use weather, your approximate location or a typed city name is sent to Open-Meteo over HTTPS so it can return a forecast. Weather data is used under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC BY 4.0) license. See Open-Meteo’s terms & privacy.

Google Play

App distribution and in-app purchases are handled by Google Play / Google Play Billing. See the Google Privacy Policy.

Firebase Crashlytics — crash reporting

To find and fix crashes, Minimalista uses Firebase Crashlytics, a crash-reporting service operated by Google. When the app crashes or hits a stability issue, it sends a report containing the stack trace, app version, device model, OS version, and a randomly-generated Firebase installation ID. It does not include your notes, contacts, messages, or the contents of your screens, and it is not linked to your identity. Reports are retained by Google per Firebase’s data-retention policy (typically up to 90 days). See the data Crashlytics collects at firebase.google.com/support/privacy and the Google Privacy Policy.

Firebase Analytics — anonymous usage statistics

To understand which features help people, Minimalista uses Firebase Analytics, operated by Google. It records feature-level events (for example: an onboarding step reached, a widget type added, a Premium screen viewed, a purchase started or completed, a feature switched on, and which button was chosen on a pause screen) together with a random app-instance ID, app version, device model, OS version, and approximate country. It never records the names of your apps, your contacts, notifications, notes, typed reasons, or any other content you create. Advertising-ID collection and ad personalisation are disabled. You can turn it off anytime in Settings → Privacy → Share anonymous usage; Google retains this data per its data-retention settings. See firebase.google.com/support/privacy.

We use no advertising SDKs and no analytics for advertising. The only third-party SDKs that transmit data are Firebase Crashlytics and Firebase Analytics, described above, used solely for crash diagnostics and improving the app.

6

Your rights & choices

Because we hold none of your personal data on any server, most requests are satisfied directly on your device. Depending on where you live (e.g. the EEA/UK under GDPR, or California under CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your data, and to object to or restrict processing. For Minimalista:

  • Access & portability — the only data that exists is on your device, under your control.
  • Deletion — clear the app’s data or uninstall the app to remove everything (see “Retention”).
  • Withdraw consent — revoke any permission anytime in Android Settings; the related feature stops immediately.
  • No sale of data — we never sell or “share” personal information as those terms are defined under CCPA/CPRA.
  • Non-discrimination — exercising any right never limits your use of the app.

To exercise a right or ask a question, contact us below.

7

Data retention & deletion

We run no servers, so we retain none of your data ourselves. Everything Minimalista stores lives in its private on-device storage and is removed when you clear the app’s data or uninstall the app. You can revoke any permission at any time in Android Settings. Crash reports sent to Firebase Crashlytics are held by Google and retained per Firebase’s data-retention policy (typically up to 90 days), not linked to your identity.

To request deletion of crash-report data, or for any data-deletion question, see our Data Deletion Request page or email lunarsprintapps@gmail.com.

8

Security

Network requests (weather) use encrypted HTTPS connections. All other data is kept in the app’s private storage, protected by Android’s application sandbox. No security method is perfect, but because we transmit and store so little, the exposure surface is deliberately minimal.

9

Children’s privacy

Minimalista is a general-purpose launcher and is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children — in fact, we don’t knowingly collect personal information from anyone. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we’ll address it.

10

International users

Minimalista does not transfer your personal data internationally, because it does not collect it on any server of ours. Weather requests you initiate are sent directly from your device to Open-Meteo; crash reports and usage statistics are sent to Firebase (Google); and your purchases are processed by Google. These providers may process data on servers outside your country, governed by their own policies, linked above.

11

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we’ll update this page and revise the “Last updated” date in the header. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
